BY PLANE
The fastest way to reach the city centre from Florence Amerigo Vespucci airport (FLR) is to take the tram, which leads directly to the Santa Maria Novella train station (S.M.N.). The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Hotel Malaspina is 800 metres from the train station S.M.N. Santa Maria Novella. You can reach the hotel by bus (no. 6 or no. 14 from Piazza Adua) in 5 minutes, or by foot along Via Nazionale, which will take 10 minutes. The Via leads into Piazza dell’Indipendenza, and Hotel Malaspina is at no. 24.
BY TRAIN
Our hotel is just 800 metres from the train station S.M.N. Santa Maria Novella.
- By bus (5 minutes): take bus no. 6 or no. 14 from Piazza Adua (approximately 200 m from the station) and get off at the “Indipendenza” stop.
- By foot (10 minutes): if you prefer to immediately begin taking in the beauty of Florence, enjoy a pleasant 10-minute stroll along Via Nazionale. The Via leads into Piazza dell’Indipendenza, and Il Malaspina is at number 24.
BY CAR
From the north (Milan/Bologna)
- Motorway exit: A1 - Firenze Nord.
- Rapid route:
- Having left the motorway, follow indications for “Centro” / “Viali di Circonvallazione”.
- Continue along Viale Guidoni and Viale Alessandro Guidoni, and then take Viale Francesco Redi.
- Take the roundabout and follow indications for Viale Lavagnini.
- Drive past Fortezza da Basso and continue along Viale Lavagnini.
- Turn right at the first traffic light after the Fortezza onto Via Santa Caterina d’Alessandria.
- Go straight on for approximately 500 metres, and you will arrive directly in Piazza dell’Indipendenza, no. 24.
From the south (Rome/Siena)
- Motorway exit: A1 - Firenze Sud.
- Rapid route:
- Having left the motorway, follow the Arno river (Viale Europa) and go straight on towards Piazza della Libertà.
- When you reach the Viali di Circonvallazione, take Viale Lavagnini (the continuation of Viale Giacomo Matteotti).
- Stay on Viale Lavagnini until you reach the traffic lights after Piazza della Libertà.
- Turn right onto Via Santa Caterina d’Alessandria.
- Go straight on for approximately 500 metres until you reach Piazza dell’Indipendenza, no. 24.
Once you have arrived in Piazza dell’Indipendenza, the staff of Il Malaspina will be on hand to help you with parking on request, thus completing your enchanting arrival.
